Title: Digital Pathology: From 2D to 3D

Abstract: This talk will focus on research in Leeds over the last 10 years related to the digital pathology facility we have set up (http://www.virtualpathology.leeds.ac.uk). In particular it will cover image analysis, 3D histopathology by image alignment, and the associated problems involved with dealing with hundreds of terrabytes of image data.
Bio: Dr Derek Magee is a lecturer in computer science at the University of Leeds, UK. His research interests lie in the area of machine vision and machine learning. His particular interests lie in medical image analysis (in particular Digital Pathology, and Dynamic Contract MRI) and time series analysis (video and non-video data).
