Biography

Abid Malik joined the Stony Brook University Department of Computer Science in September 2023. He earned his PhD from the University of Waterloo, Canada. With over 15 years of experience, he has been actively engaged in research on parallel programming languages, constraint programming, and compiler technology. Prior to joining Stony Brook, he worked at Brookhaven National Laboratory, the University of Houston, Rice University, INRIA (France), and the IBM Center for Advanced Studies (CAS) in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Malik's current research interests include high-performance computing, parallel programming models, and compiler optimizations targeting LLVM and MLIR frameworks.
