Sept. 15 - Register Now for SBU ACM-Style Coding Contest
CS Professor and Programming Team Coach Rezaul Chowdhury is thrilled to announce that with the help of the Stony Brook Computer Science Society, the department is holding a local ACM-style Coding Contest on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Here are the event details:
Date: September 15, 2015
Location: Room 2129 of Old Computer Science Building
Time: 7:00 - 7:30PM -- warmup and 7:30 - 10:30PM -- competition
Each participant must compete alone (this is not a team contest), and will get 5/6 algorithmic problems to solve within the given time limit. Prizes will be awarded to the top finisher in each of the three categories:
(1) Juniors (for first- and second-year undergrads),
(2) Seniors (for third- and fourth-year undergrads), and
(3) Grads (for first- and second-year graduate students).
The goal is to identify the top candidates for our ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) teams, which will participate in the Greater New York Regional Contest (Nov 8, 2015) for a slot in the ACM World Finals 2016 (May 15-20, 2016).
