Assistant Professor
Department of Biomedical Informatics
Stony Brook University
Current research projects include: (1) genomic machine learning (e.g., deep learning, representation learning); (2) cancer systems biology.
Dr. Daifeng Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Stony Brook University, and a faculty member of Stony Brook Cancer Center. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2011. After obtaining his Ph.D., he joined Gerstein Lab as postdoctoral associate in 2012 and associate research scientist in 2015 at Yale University.
Dr. Daifeng Wang focuses on the development of specialized informatics and computational approaches, driven by rapidly increasing quantities of biological and biomedical data, to discover biological design and evolutionary principles in complex biological systems, especially at the genomic level. With applications to human diseases, he aims to generate the knowledge from those principles that can be directly translated into the biomedical research. His approaches also integrate computational methods and models in computer science, data science, engineering and network science. For specifies, please visit http://daifengwang.com.
