Biography
Rob Patro ​is affiliated with Genomics​ Cluster. He earned his Ph.D degree from University of Maryland at College Park in 2012. He was a postdoctoral research associate at the Lane Center for Computational Biology, Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Patro joined the computer science department at Stony Brook University in 2014.
Research
Rob Patro's research lies in scalable algorithms for high-throughput genomic analysis, algorithms for inferring & comparing biological networks, and network Evolution & Systems Biology.
Awards
Rob is the recipient of an NSF CAREER award in 2018. He is the recipient of a Best Paper award from ACM BCB (2017). He was a recipient of ISMB travel fellowship (2013) and ISMB Student travel fellowship (2012). He also won the DREAM 5 competition (challenge 1).
