Public Rooms

The Computer Science Department has a number of specialized public rooms for teaching and meeting.  Below is a description of the rooms and their capabilities.  Each room has unique policies that determine when and how the rooms may be used.  The view these policies please scroll to the bottom of this page.  For information about scheduling these rooms please check out the Calendar Reservation FAQ.

Room Use Policies

 

Teaching Rooms

  • Teaching Room 120 - reserved daily from 10am until 5pm for special events.  

  • Priority of use

    1. Other special events on a case-by-case basis

    2. Department Presentations (e.g., defenses, prelims, RPEs)

    3. Guest Speakers (e.g., DLS)

    • Classes that end before 10am or start after 5pm may be scheduled in this room.

  • Teaching Rooms 115, 2114, 2120, 2129 & 2311

    • Priority given to scheduled classes

 

Conference Rooms

  • Conference Room 220

    • Priority of use

      1. Administrative Meetings (e.g., faculty meetings)

      2. Department Presentations (e.g., defenses, prelims, RPEs)

      3. Research group meetings.

      4. Other meetings on a case-by-case basis.

      • No classes or teaching seminars are to be held in Room 220.

  • Conference Rooms 109, 209, 156, 256, 358, 2125

    • Available to be scheduled for meetings

    • Available for PhD-level seminars

    • Room 209 will have restricted hours until access control issues are resolved.  Expected Summer 2016.

Note: In all conference rooms, CS faculty or staff use takes precedence over student and other meetings, even if the room was scheduled.
