STONY BROOK, NY, May 11, 2012
The event had a bit of a rocky start with one student (who had 2 entries in the event) having gone AWOL with a last minute code disaster (it didn't help that his game was scheduled to be 1st) and some A/V issues that had to be ironed out, but in the end the games were better and more entertaining than ever.
There were lots of different types of games on various platforms in the competition, but in the end it was the Battle Pong/RPG style of Block Wars that won over the judges.
At the end of each Spring semester student games are showcased at this annual event. Visit the official SBU Game Programming Competition site for more on rules for entry and the history of the event. Visit the SBU Game Programming YouTube Channel to see trailers from select games entered in the competition over the years.
